Do you know the drill for finding parasitic drains? Posted by Bill Homer [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: how do I get behind the passenger side fuse box, stephenh, Wed, 11 Jul 2012 12:31:46 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
(From one of my previous posts:)
If not: you disconnect one of the battery cables and insert an ammeter between the cable and the battery. The meter should indicate a very small amount of current, something like tens of milliamps for normal standby uses like the clock and keeping the memory intact on various other circuit such as the ECU and radio. If you have a larger amount of current indicated, you start pulling fuses one by one to see where that current is going; when the current drops dramatically, you found what's draining the battery.
Before lowering the relay panel, I would take a more systematic approach.
