The line was kinked at the filter, not the pump. I am fairly certain it happened when I installed the first new filter just after the car died, thinking it was so long overdue that it may be clogged. Then I turned the filter slightly and the line hit the underbody, kinking it so about 50% of it was blocked. Regardless, I straightened it out, wrapped it with vinyl tape, and it started! I may go back and reinforce it with some tubing and hose clamps.... not sure yet.
