I got pretty obsessive about this when I felt I couldn't trust an alignment shop. That said a good tech in a good shop is your friend. I've replaced bent rear axles on two 9ks. Never found anyone who could straighten one cheaper than I could find another. I tried slotting rear mounting holes but that doesn't really work. Good first check is to put a long straightedge, laser pointer, etc on each rear wheel to gauge the relative amount of toe with respect to the rocker panels. If you use a laser you can shoot to a target way out front of the car.
Bottom line though is if the car drives straight and you get a nice snap back to center when you tweak the wheel left or right you're probably ok. You can measure toe with a tape measure fairly easily if your tires have a center rib.
