Hmm, details. I don't know for sure what to tell you. This is a new combo for me. This 9000 CDE auto was purchased with a 6 cylinder engine. The story is that the engine blew and the car sat in a barn for many years. The car was purchased with the blown 6 and had a 4 cylinder put in. How old is the 4? What year? I dunno.
I do know that this 4 cylinder does not idle as smoothly or perform as powerfully as either of my other 9000s, both of which had strong, smooth, competent, and fun engines. From my reading here, it seems that there may be a vacuum leak somewhere. And someone said "check and clean the AIC valve". Don't know what that is or where it is or how to check it.
