i want my engine, turbo, etc. to last as long as possible. should i baby it...always try to stay in the green rpm range (< 3000 rpm) as much as possible, or is it ok to rev it unnecesarily---say just for fun or showoff---every now and then (3000-5000 rpm).
i know there was that endurance test at talladega awhile back, but i think that was a test of continuous high speed, not necessarily high rpm. i don't think they ever quoted the rpm that the cars were running at. i suppose it was 5th gear and in the green range.
