Just don't get to attached to the new 9k or you'll find yourself driving it more than your c900. You'll actually find a big base of technical knowledge here, not just arm chair mechanics. All of the stuff you've mentioned above is pretty easy to accomplish yourself, some more so than on a c900. The only thing that is significantly harder is the clutch (I left this to a shop.) You'll definetly enjoy having the engine pointing in a more convenient location. As I'm sure others will point out, the auto trans can be troublesome. They frequently go around the 100k mark, though some seem to go much longer and a couple of repairs are quite easy and cheap. Change the fluid frequently, don't abuse it, and budget in for a replacement every 100k or so. Other spots that need attention are the DI casette (last a long time if well maintained but costs ~$450), the motor mounts (a bit tricky to change and they tend to go with some frequency), and the heater core (never had this problem myself and preventable with frequent flushes and bar leaks as appropriate.) You may also wish to avoid models with tractions control (look for the TCS icon during start up) as this can be a troubles feature, primarily because it is dificult to trouble shoot. Good luck, I gaurantee you'll enjoy the 9k.
