Over the past six weeks or so, I have had half a dozen instances of the engine simply quitting on me. This is a 91 9kT, running well otherwise. It has simply shut down in the middle of (1) trailing throttle going into an intersection, (2) driving along under slight acceleration at approx 35 mph, (3) cruising on a 4-lane at 70 to 75, (4) refused to start when cranked after sitting for maybe an hour...and moments like these. The only commonality seems to be having had rain within the previous 48 hrs. (Not a constant on the mid-coast of CA.)

In all but instance #4 (above) the car started when cranked using the ignition switch. Simply leaving it in gear when the car has been moving doesn't (except once!) result in a return to actually running properly and smoothly. In #4, coming back 3 hrs later and cranking it led to it starting right up...

Recent steps to address it have been new plugs, injector cleaner, dry gas. My indy said, "Why don't you ask your BB for a list of intermittent problems that have these symptoms?"

What thoughts does anyone have? Thanks, all!
