Within the auto industry, a quart every 800 miles is considered to be acceptable. A quart in 2000 miles is well within normal range, particularly if it is non-synthetic (and will evaporate under heat).
I have been running AMSOIL synthetics in all my cars for almost 25 years now. I currently run an 85 900T, an 88 9000T, an 85 Volvo 240 turbo, and a 90 Dodge 1 ton van---all on AMSOIL 0W-30. The 85 900T went to AMSOIL (then 10W-30) at about 30K--belonged to a neighbor) and now has 180K. The 85 Volvo went to AMSOIL about 38K when I bought it. The 88 9K went to AMSOIL at 87K when I bought it. Van went to AMSOIL at 202K when I bought it (but engine was already about done, using quart of synthetic every 600 miles, and was later replace--when it got to qt every 100 miles--with a reman from Jasper
Any xW-30 will give you plenty of protection, especially if it is synthetic. AMSOIL 0W-30 give better protection against wear than does Castrol 5W-50, and the xW-50 will have more internal resistance (thus lesser performance).
