You can increase base boost if you want, but all you'll achieve is a quicker response. Add too much and you get an asymetrical boost process that can get hard to handle, if not jerky and unwieldy. It will not likely change your max boost, which is controlled by Trionic. To my knowledge, only an ECU EPROM alteration will change max boost.
I've got an idea, though: If Trionic is sensing max boost from some sender in the manifold, why couldn't you fool it into thinking that boost is lower by adding a resistor to the circuit? Just a thought, but what value would one use?
I tweaked mine a bit, as it was set a bit too conservative for my tastes. I have base boost toward the top of the spec range, if not a tad above. I suppose I screwed my wastegate-diaphragm rod in a turn or two total. If you do it, keep track of what you've done in case you want to revert back to its original setting; i.e., count the turns and write down what you did before each trial. And don't lose that rod clip!
