...the cse of that vintage will have the 200bhp engine in auto form. Will also have the skirt extensions and rear lip spoiler of the Aero, but not the lower and stiffer Aero suspension. If it is an Anniversary model, the internal specs will be similar, but the Aero will have the gorgeous 3800 GBP dealer option winged front seats as standard and more sculpted rear seats only really suitable for two people (and won't fold fully flat). Anniversary will also have a half wooden steering wheel(!)
The Aero manual (and CSE manual) share the same 225bhp engine. My one pet hate on the '98 CSEs are the hideous multi spoke alloys - get yourself some Aero rims if you go for the car.
Personally, I think the Aero will always be the more desirable - even given the increased engine power of the CSE in its last year of manufacture. It is certainly a more rewarding "performance" drive than the more softly suspended CSE.
At the end of the day, they are both great cars - it's upto you.
