Definately not as easy Posted by Ari [Email] (#2847) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Ari) on Tue, 10 Apr 2001 15:25:51 In Reply to: Re: BLOWER FAN??? It can't possibly be that...., joseph, Tue, 10 Apr 2001 12:19:04 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
It's very easy to access the blower. It's just that as you try and remove it, you find that things get in your way. It's like reaching through a chain link fence to pull out a softball. You can touch it, but the damn thing won't fit between the bits.
It is easier in the newer models (your 93 being one). But between the intake manifold and the AC lines, and bits and pieces here and there, it takes time. The issue about the fender is that the blower is in the center of the car, and unless you play professional basketball, you're going to have to LEAN and REACH over the fender to get access. It doesn't take too long before your back starts to complain.
This isn't to say you can't or shouldn't do the job. It's very doable, especially in your year. Just budget the proper amount of time for the task, and buy yourself a six-pack to reward yourself after it's done.
