I'm pretty sure the car has had regular oil changes. It was well maintained when I bought it, and I change the oil regularly. It now has 141k on the clock, still runs like a Saab, but the noise (at idle, at a stop) really bothers me. I had the exhaust fixed, but this noise is still there. It is DEFINITELY coming from the timing chain area, so I guess I'll need to take a look at it soon, have to put the '92 9kt(with busted timing chain) on hold for a bit. Thanks .
