..just older (92 Accord/91 9KT). My take is this; the Honda will be more reliable from an operations standpoint upto about 125k or so miles. Beyond that I think the Aero will be more reliable because it is built with better materials and the major components are designed better. The Aero has more components/accessories and is a more complex design which contribuites to its unreliability to a point but also enhances driving enjoyment.
I bought the Accord for my wife and the 9000 for me, but whenever she goes out with her friends, she asks "can I take the nice car".
It comes down to a couple key principles. If you want a very reliable, comfortable, very average performer with little or no identity, that will last from 175-225k, go with the Accord. If you want a reliable, very comfortable, excellent performer, with lots of identity, that will last from 250-350k, go with the Aero.
The Aero is also "much" quieter at cruising speed than the Honda.
If I had my pick, and they were equally well maintained with a competant dealer or indy in the area, I'd go with the Aero any day....and so would my wife.
