Background info:
Tonight I was driving and a BMW 328i came up beside me at a light. The light turned green and we went. Actually, the light was turning green while the 328i was squaking (spelling?) its tires. Seeing that he had the head start, I thought that I could still make up for the loss knowing that I had more hp in my Aero then his BMW. He accelerated to 90 km/h (an esimate by myself) and I got there (i.e. 90 km/h) probably a few car lengths after him. We both then throttled off seeing that we were driving in a 60 km/h zone.

The facts about the cars:
328i - hp:190@5300 rpm torque:206 ft/lb@3950 rpm curb weight:1415kg
Aero - hp:225@5500 rpm torque:252 ft/lb@1800 rpm curb weight:1475
note: I am assuming that the BMW was a 1997. Thus, the above numbers are from a 1997 Carguide Magazine.

The analyzes:
I was surprised by how much the car beat me (even though he did get the head start) when considering the above hp, torque, and curb weight numbers for each vehicle. So, how do the rest of you guys see it? The BMW was modified? The Aero's turbo didn't have enough time to spool to make the car perform the way it can? Saabs are not a car of the line. Rather, if we were on the highway going 120 km/h and I wanted to pass him, my Aero could do so with ease even if the BMW was giving full throttle. I suck as a future race car driver? Thoughts people?
