the balance sprocket on two different 91 engines completely failed. The first engine wasn't lucky to be caught in time and the timing chain broke. Mind you this was at over 200k miles. How can I complain?
The replacement engine I put in lost all oil presure at 150k miles. I caught it in time and found out that most of the teeth from the balance chain sprocket on the crankshaft were sheared off. These teeth went through the oil pump and hence the oil presure.
