then you should measure to specs but there are safe guards embedded in the software and mechanical devices to limit the output for protection of the engine. You will certainly know when you exceed the max set by Saab but what you may not know is if these safeties are modified for additional boost the injectors should also be changed to allow more cooling fuel. I had one Saab once for repair, where the limit pressure switch was increased and the Knock sensor bolt torque changed to allow boost of over 1.3 Bar. About 15000 miles later the head had to be pulled for a leaking gasket and 9 valves had to be replaced. All intakes and 1 exhaust because of lean running at high boost. I would strongly recommend you check things out with a quality gage, set the base boost to the max, within tolerance, then check max boost holding car on the floor or at least 4500 rpm, under load, you can short pins 2 and3 in the TPS for additional fuel cooling if you wish but at leat check that these points are closing and it will not be necessary. As for the strange noise you are hearing don't know. The larger pipe changes the flow dynamics of the exhaust. If it is regular I would assume that is it but if it gets to fluttering I would look at the plug/plug gap for possible problems. There is the posibility that the car has not completletly settled in to the new pipe dynamics. I would give it several weeks of running to allow things to sort. The turbo will have less dynamic pressure on the turbine because of the slower mass flow in the pipe if I remember Bernoulli's principle correctly and the engine must recognize these changes. Spool will be affected slightly so you may have to adjust the wastegate to allow for this, You will probably not notice this with an automatic car.
