Thanks for the comments. Firstly; I have no manual control of the fan at "lo" or any other speed, according the manual if you press and hold the fan buttons you should get the increase or decrease in speed: nothing responding. The Interior sensor has no discernable sound or whirring that I can hear or see. The sensor is clean, I can see what looks like a diode in the front and the mini fan behind.
The car IS covered under the used car warranty and the services warranty, so getting the work done by the dealership is not the issue, I just want to be assured that it is not my inexperience with the car that is causing the problem, and/or that I have not run into a car that is inconsistent with Saab's reliability reputation!
