I’ve added another SAAB to the stable. Having been a 900 owner for two years, I was ready for more. After 500 miles of driving, I've managed to pry myself away from the driver's seat long enough to pose a few questions.

When it rains while I’m driving, especially at highway speeds, there’s a knocking sound coming from my sunroof. It sounds as if someone were knocking on the sunroof. No rain = no sound. There aren’t any leaks and the sunroof operates fine otherwise. I don’t have a roof rack or anything else that I can determine which would make this sound. Any ideas?

Was cruise control standard on ’92 9kTs? Mine doesn’t have a trip computer or cruise control, but seems to have everything else. Any ideas on what it might cost to retrofit cruise?

I’m looking to avoid waking my neighbors every time someone bumps into my car. The manual states that I can disable the motion sensor, but I’d like to be able to disable the whole system, although not permanently. How can I do this? What will set off the alarm if only the motion sensors are disabled? I know I sound ignorant, but I’ve never had an alarm and don't see the value. I long for the days when parking lots didn't have a chorus of chirping.

Why in the world is the ignition on the dash? It's quirky to say the least. Old habits die hard, and I find myself trying to stick my key into the arm rest.
