NOTE: I've got a '93 9000 CS, so mine may be a little different from yours.
To disable the motion detector (which is invaluable since I live close to a pair of often used railroad tracks), the key is turned *and held* until a chirp is heard. If I remember right, this chirping can be turned off, but only by "an Authorized Saab Dealer," or so says the Saab manual.
If you want, the entire system can be shut off, but again, it is only to be done by "an Authorized Saab Dealer." Then again, if we did everything "by the book," we'd all be broke and unable to afford Saabs!
I'd check the manual for more instructions, but my wife took my car to work. (She left me her '91 Nissan Sentra. It was hardly a fair trade! *grin*)
Sincerely,
Michael O'Brien (USA)
