here that I don't understand.
The cooling fan on my 93 9k cs has been out for the past month. I have replaced the thermostat, thermosensor switch, and flushed + filled the cooling system- still no cooling fan although I can cross the blue and black wires at the switch to make the fan come on.
Last night I took my baby to a local a/c specialist and had him pull a vacuum and check for leaks( a/c's been out for a while). He said that when he refilled with 1 lb of R134a both the high side and low side pressures read the same. His immediate diagnosis was that I had a bad "seal" in/on the compressor and that it was shot.
I get home and realize that the a/c is working quite nicely and that now my cooling fan is working. This is great but I then realize that I had left one of the wires on the switch (I think the blue(low speed)) disconnected.
How could the fan come on with the switch disconnected and would having freon even if it was only 1lb have any thing to do with the cooling fan now working.
*update- this morning the cooling fan is again not coming on but the a/c is fine.
I am taking it to a Saab mechanic next week I would just like to be able to intelligently talk to him about this.
