... and the fact that I've been struggling with this problem for a while now, I'm taking it to a dealer (Boo! Hiss!) on Monday. However, for the money they're sure to charge, I'll make damned sure to get a detailed explanation of the problem.
So since when has a lambda test been part of the MOT?
One thing, though - I asked the tester if I could take some photos of the exhaust while he had it on the lift (he was really good about it: found something else to do for a few minutes and left me to it) and I notice in the photos that the fuel filter doesn't look as new as I thought it was. I can't find mention of it in my service records either. Surely a filter clogged enough to affect no-load mixture would cause severe problems on full boost, though? I have a new filter, so I suppose it's worth a try.
