two things - one is the computer is going throught the prestart set up looking at the temp sensor input and ambient pressure, These two sensors this sets the car up for an enriched start, and two-clearing all shut down/running conditions stored in the trionic from previous operations. Your fuel pump relay is engaged as soon as you apply +50 voltage circuit(key to start)this turns on the pump. As soon as the computer sees a crank angle change it turn on the DI ignition after crank angle releases DI the pump relay continues on the +30 circuit when the key is released(key to Ign. The engine fires and runs. If you jump in turn the key to start, the engine is turning and the pump is running but the computer hasn't sorted the pulse length required for cold start, the computer hasn't read all the parameters and released all the conditions needed for proper starting. This start scenario came about with the trionic ignition which your car has. I do the same with my car- wait a few seconds while I belt up then start. it starts immediately and doesn't hop around sorting out the mixture or idle speed.
