It's the upper right bolt. One of the small ones. Maybe I'll try it again without any further drilling and see if it seals or not. If it doesn't, I'm really worried about getting it out, but I guess I'll move to the HeliCoil route - although I've never seen one of these - are they are a standard hardware store type of affair? After that, its machinist, but does the back of the oil pump come off, or is that really part of the block?
Also, could you help me confirm in my mind that I definitely have the wrong O-ring. The o-ring I have seems too narrow and too small (diameter-wise) to ever stretch out into that long irregular track. What does a fresh, uninserted o-ring look like for the 2.0l engine?
Thanks for all your help, you're making me feel (perhaps mistakenly) that there may be some glimmer of hope that I'll ever get my car back together.
