(incisive and accurate advice as always - pleasure to be here)
sensor and it came with a connector and Pepboys claims its a direct application on my van. I am yet to crawl under and check if it is. Also the Ford dealer confirmed that this sensor has a heater and also said that all sensors nowadays had heaters, she did not know one without it in a Ford vehicle.
Makes sense because the heater prevents the car from running on an open loop (as was done in the "old" days) waiting for the O2 sensor to come up to temp using the heat in the exhaust gas at which time it would provide a measurement and begin to regulate the combustion process. I guess the EPA zeroed in on this open loop starting business as being a big polluter a long time ago. Anybody have any ideas when?
Thanks Again
