step would be to check again. Lets say that I would have the car here. I would check ign parts. If they would be just remotly worn or God forbid aftermarket I would instantly put a new Bosch cap/rotor on and Bougicord wires and NGK BCPR6ES plugs. that's that.
Next I would check the air massmeter, if anything else than Bosch rebuilt I would put a new one in.That's that. You won't beleive have many different brands of AMM I replace after a very short time.
Next step would be to check butterfly/throttleswitch for correct adjustment and correct switch, (someone on the board suggested a Volvo switch as a replacement) they work in opposite direction. Not good.
If nothing of that took care of the problem than I would start to fault trace. Checking fuel pressure, O2 sensor activity, AIC resistance,timing etc, etc.
We only know one thing now, some little Gremlin is still there and it could be one of the parts you replaced or maybe a faulty wire somewhere.
And it's not easy, I know.
