If you are at all handy, you can save yourself $100 or more by putting in an hour or two. I like to put both wheels up on stands so I can check the other side if I've got a question about how it goes back together. Like any project though, you can always run into a tough bolt and end up at the mechanic's. I would do several read ups-also check Townsend's site, review this board for suggestions, and read a general brake book from the library. The second time you do it will take 1/4th the time.

I use Aaxis(sp?)/previously Repco Deluxe pads. They work great, and barely dust as compared to stock. Townsend says that if the disk is bad enough to machine, it should be replaced. The saab rotors do not machine well. The pads are avail from vendors on this board for around $30, and I don't think you can buy better.
