I agree that you should DIY by following Quasi's instructions. I also agree with Eric about the Repco (now PBR/Axxis) pads. I've used Repco Deluxe pads for about 30 years on many cars and find them long-lived, quiet, nearly dust-free, and effective. I just purchased a new set of Axxis Deluxe pads for front and rear, and plan on replacing them soon.
The famous Axxis Metalmasters are the choice of many, but they have a slower warmup period and higher abrasion levels compared to the Deluxe pads. The MM are also more fade-free, but unless you race and engage in repeated panic stops, I doubt if you'd notice the difference.
Stock pads are fine performers, but I find the dust they produce to be unacceptable. The Deluxe pads cut the dust radically without any decrease in performance, and are much cheaper than stock pads purchased from a dealer.
