Too many variables to just say "go this many miles" Humidity, temperature and your driving style will affect it in every case. You can test it at home. Synthetics suffer mainly from becomeing acidic. Viscosity breakdown in normal (dino) oil is also a problem, you pretty much have to overheat a sythetic to have it break down. You can buy test kits to check it at home. I found my turbo car, driven exclusivly on the highway was good for 8500 miles. the non turbo grocery getter goes abut 2500. (both on synthetics) the funny part is they both seem to need it aboout every 3 months, so I have just setteled in on doing it by calender. Works for me, but maybe not for you. If nothing else, testing your own oil can add more knowledge to you about your car. You may go longer in dry weather or cool weather. These tests will not detect breakdowns of componants in your car like the spectroscopic tests where you send in a sample. (ie lead from a bearing race)
