Actually, I did add a MBC similar to that describe on the Lotus Elan site (which is also a low boost setup) over the Xmas break. I have found it much like you describe, a bit faster spool-up, decent mid-range grunt and a butt-dyno reading of 180-185hp. But after reading the thread of a couple of days ago about wastegate adjustment, etc. I started wondering if I should take it off. I've been playing with the adjustment of the MBC but haven't hit the fuel shut-off which I understand on an LPT is around the 8 psi level. I haven't put a boost gage on it yet so I've been taking it easy but as I said the other thread got me wondering as to my wisdom. On the other hand, I once had a Volvo 740 that I installed Volvo's Turbo Plus setup on. This along with a wastegate adjustment took boost from about 6 psi to about 14 psi (and hp from 165 to 195-200). Although I initially had concerns about engine and turbo life, the car has had that on it for about 130K miles and has a total of 230K miles on the original motor and drivetrain. This modest increase on an LPT should be more than within the same kind of parameters and wear possibilities.
Thanks again for the input. Appreciate it.
