The beauty of B motor timing chains....once you line the notch on the cam sprocket up with the arrow on rearward cam bearing cap, you thread a nut(some years used bolts) onto the stud protruding from the cam sprocket, through the bracket. Remove the three bolts that hold the cam sprocket to the cam, then pry the cam sprocket from the cam flange. The chain will be immobilized and kept in time when you do this. Thinking about it some more, you don't even need to line the timing marks up, but I usually do it any way. The cam sprocket only bolts one way to the cam, it's impossible to get it wrong on re-assembly.
