I have no answers on how to determine which bearing is bad, so maybe somene else can enlighten you...

You are going to have to pull the whole front end apart unfortunately. Remove the caliper bolts and hang the caliper from the spring(might be easier to also remove the e-brake cable and move it out of the way). Remove the four ball joint bolts, outer tie rod end, and inner CV boot clamp. Remove assembly from the car.

The driveshaft must be pressed or driven out of the hub/knuckle. I used a air hammer with a pointed tool placed in the whole at the outer end of the shaft to drive the shaft out. Using a hammer is a no no, as it may mushroom the end of the driveshaft. At this point the shaft, hub, and steering knuckle will all be free from each other. Take the knuckle to a machine shop and have them press the old bearing out and press the new bearing in. Un-clamp the outer CV boot and slide it down the shaft. Place the driveshaft in a press, then have the knuckle pressed onto the shaft. Next have the hub pressed back onto the assembly. Those are the basic steps of how it should be done. Any other way, like the methods I used(no press to install bearings, driveshaft, and hub), can ruin the new bearing.

I scanned some pages from the manual and have them linked below...click on each image twice to get a readable page. It may be a good idea to fire up the printer and print the pages out...
