Chris, I think Dan Mis-read Doug and my postings. Doug simply offered a picture with a parts breakdown to help you understand what you're looking at, and a possible culprit. My comments are basically this...Remove the stupid reverse interlock gear. If you already had, You wouldn't have even posted on this board on the issue. There are so many benefits to removing this gear such as easier troubleshooting, eliminating shifter component breakage, as well as key breakage. The very first thing I do with every Saab I've had is to remove this stupid gear. In my opinion, this is the best advice you will get on this board as well as the C900 one.You can simply check your ignition switch with a meter. If it snaps back, and there is still 12v at the starter lead, you know the switch is at fault. If that was a new switch, and it doesn't snap back, I'd point you to the same place Doug did. Before you waiste money on a new switch, look to see why it broke. Best of luck.
