Support (in terms of parts) certainly has dropped since I owned my first 96 30 years ago. However, thanks to some of the Saab clubs and some individuals, most repair parts are available and some are being reproduced. (Sorry Kansas but the Swedish Saab Club does sell new ring and pinion sets but I get your point). As long as there are some owners and clubs willing to go the extra effort there will be some new items available. The most interesting (or discouraging) part about Saabs seems to be the general lackluster interest of the automotive public in general and even some owners themselves. I know many vintage Saab owners who are only interested in the cheapest, easiest way to get parts and expect all parts to be Wal-Mart priced. They would never make the effort to help source, buy, stock and make available to others a hard to find part in an effort to promote the hobby.
I also know there are only a handful of "experts" still around for things like transmission rebuilds and such and I don't know who will step up when they are gone. Am I giving up my 96 because I don't think I will be able to keep it running in the future? No way!
