I'm rebuilding the V4, BUT WHAT ABOUT THE TRANNY???

I have decided to rebuild and upgrade my V4 to increase it's horsepower to 100hp, but how can I tell if I need to do anything to the transmission? It seems to be fine. I do hear a little gear noise in fourth gear, but I think this might be normal. I hear no whining at all. I do have a little vibration when I accelerate hard, but I was told that this may not be the transmission at all. How can I tell? If I do not accelerate hard, I have no vibration at all. If I decide to go ahead and rebuild the tranny along with the V4, what kind of life expectancy should I expect out of the two. I am not a HARD driver, I enjoy winding it out every so often, but that's about all. Will the stock tranny hold up to the increased engine horsepower? Sorry for all the questions. Thanks!
