Thanks for the help, but I need to provide more details and then you might know where the problem is.
My brakes were working perfectly, but my pads were getting worn. So I decided to change the front pads only. I have not done brakes on this car before, but am fairly mechanically inclined. The left side went fine, but I was having problems getting the new pads to fit on the right side, so I did some wedging (tapping the pads with a hammer), but not hitting it real hard - just hard enough to squeeze them in their place. I put things back together and took her for a ride, and this is when the vibration first started.
I had new rotors on hand and so I put on a new rotor on the right side and this time (using a pair of channel lock pliers to push the caliper piston in all the way) I was able to get the pads to fit easily. I put things back together and the vibration was still there. Let me also state that I noticed rust on the piston and on the back of the pad next to the piston. It was recommended that I turn the rotors (even though they were new) just to be sure, so I did. I was really expecting the problem to be resolved, but no such luck. Now I am not sure what to do next.
Does this information help you help me? Thanks so much!
