When they become worn, the teeth appears as if they are sharpened. Teh purpose of synchos are to slow down the gearwheel so the next shift will be smooth. When synchros are worn, a grinding usually occurs when placing the shifter into the next gear. Some drivers are rough, avoiding a slight pause , and "slamming" the shifter to the next gear.

How much will the rebuilder charge you Bob?

Does he have experience rebuilding these transmissions?

Lastly, what symptoms were you experiencing in the transmission?

MSS Jack Lawrence has a strong suggestion of replacing the nut in the rear, and the torque is vital.

The Swedish Saab club also sells te pinion and crown wheel.
