Actually, most machine shops I've worked with want the oversize parts before they actually do any machining, as they need to fit the machined parts to the new bearings, pistons, etc. They can measure the parts and tell you what bearings or pistons are needed. If you have a 1700cc engine, you can use some 2600cc V-6 Capri parts. 1500cc engines are harder, because pistons aren't readily available in the US. There are alternatives you can use (Jack Ashcraft had a Ford truck piston he recommended, but they require a large overbore), but you might find what you need at a UK supplier, since the Europeans always got the 1500cc engine. Jack Lawrence and Bud Clark are good sources for information, advice and parts.
