Oops! I just looked up the schematic and I had it a bit backwards!
X is the power pin that comes in the flasher unit from the fuse box. And L is the output- it goes to the flasher switch and the turn signal switch. When the turn signal switch turns on, current goes from the fuse to the X contact out the L contact then through the switch and to the lights. And the little thermal thingy does its thing and turns the lights on and off. The P contact is just what I said- it drives the indicator light and appears to be stuck. So same advice as before- replace your flasher unit. Sorry for confusing explanation!
