I'm quite sure that in '78 only the hatchback came with the EMS designation, but the '77's may have had both. For some reason I don't have a '77 brochure in my stash. I just looked at the '78 brochure and an air dam was standard on the EMS, but it was different from the one on the Turbo. The EMS one didn't have the air openings. My friend Dave has a '78 EMS that does not have an air dam, but the car has been repainted and the air dam may have been damaged and removed. The Turbo style one on my '78 99L is in almost perfect condition. There is only one small crack in it.
