As a young person on a tight budget... let me tell you my 96 900S, while its a great car, its definitely cost me more $$$ in repairs then I expected, and I am doing DIY for most of it... still the parts are expensive...
I don't want to think about what I'd be paying if I took it to a dealer.
in the time since I bought the car, I've lost the DI Cassette, and 2 serpentine pulleys (therefore also losing 2 serpentine belts.
not to mention regular items such as I lost 2 tires due to blowouts, and I have to get an alignment done soon, replace the starter as it is on its way out, and also replace the muffler (which I anticipated)
Definitely think twice and 3 times before putting your money into a car like this which requires TLC... My last car, a 93 Corolla had no problems except an exhaust leak in the past year, and burning oil (and dead alternator, most likely my fault from overloading it)... still on the same belts, pulleys, distributor, struts, muffler as when my dad originally got the car in 1995.
just my $.02
