1) Before you buy a car, make sure you check out actual car transaction values in your area at http://www.edmunds.com - this is more accurate than Blue Book (I think) because those values represent what people actually pay.
2) I just bought a 95 900S with 53k on it. I paid $6200 (edmunds says that at a dealer it would be around $6700). It needed a couple things mechanically, but the dealer fixed everything and gave it its 60k major tune-up as well along with new tires and a bunch of other stuff. Personally, I thought $6200 was on the high side, however, because of the low milage and the work that they did to it, I thought it was a fair price (and more imporantly, what I could afford).
3) Finally, don't expect to be able to finance a 1995 at a dealership. Or a bank. Every bank that I checked with would not finance a car older than 1999. I ended up financing a small amount through http://www.eloan.com. I would recommend them to anyone, HOWEVER, make sure you ask them when you are approved how old of a car you can buy. (They make that decision based on credit).
