Ok > more info
Back in the first week of Dec while parking, less than 1mph, I was turning into the space when I rubbed up against the curb. It was the front passanger side. When I got out and looked at it I was shocked. the wheel was bent and the tire was torn but not flat.....We went in and eat lunch
When I returned I knew that I needed to to repair the tire before I could make the drive home > 53 miles. Lucky, the town where I work had a tire shop (lets leave the name out of it) that had the same type of tires as my others.
I drove over and left the car. When I picked it up after work they said they balanced the tire and checked the alignment and it was good to go.....
Well as I began my drive home I noticed the vibration in my steering wheel, on the driver side about the 10 oclock position. As I increassed speed it got worse and the entire cockpit started to vibrate as well. Well, I drove it home >53 miles. Thinking it would be best to get it to my Saab mechinaic.
The next day I dropped it off with my Saab guy and explained what was going on. He had it for about a week. He checked the balance and sent it out for another alignment and found that it was really out of alignment. Once that was done the vibration was still there so they started rotating wheels and they said it was ok.
Well, the same day that I picked it up I went for a drive and sure enough as soon as i got up to about 50 the vibartion started all over again. I took it back and he said that he thought I had a tire out of round but that he did not think it vibrated any more or less than all Saabs.
To be honest, this just pissed me off. The vibration is worse than anything I have ever driven and how in the hell could he not feel it ???? I just left and parked it in the garage until yesterday....
Miles: 84K
Maint: Has been rock solid, up until now
I guess my biggest problem is that a) I am not a mech and b) there is no where else to take it in this town.....
