Hi David,
Hope you don't have the luck that I had on my NG900SET with Auto. I bought it from a sweet old lady (1st owner) last May. It had 71k. I had to do the following:
- Resurfaced rotors for wobbly brakes
- Blew heater hose, replaced hose
- Mysterious coolant leak, finally traced to head gasket, replaced head gasket
- Power seat stopped working, need to replace seat relay, but since I'm the only driver, I haven't yet.
- SID pixel mystery
- Slow AC leak that I can't find (had to charge twice)
- Idler pulley fried, replaced pulley
- Check engine light caused by either O2 or DI, so replaced DI check engine came back once, awaiting to come back again.
- Changed rotors and pads, because of wobbly brakes again.
- Finally, last Saturday, the engine gave up its ghost. Something in the lower block gave way. There is a gaping hole about 3 inches wide in the lower block. The car now has 85k.
I haven't beat on the car. I changed oil religiously under my ownership... I still love the Saabs, but this one is a real bad apple.
I bought a '95 9000 Aero month ago. I haven't driven it yet. I'm hoping that will be a LOT less trouble free than the NG900.
Good luck,
James from Michigan...
