Frankly I agree with your advice. I LOVE my car. I've always wanted a Saab. I see now that the local dealer is really the problem. I simply need to find other resources to do repair work and learn to do what I can (with help/assistance from Saab buddy folks like Gray Man). I keep reminding myself that the major components of my Saab are solid -- the engine, electrical (knock wood), tranny, etc. The rest are wear & tear items and occasionally the odd/quirky thing. I did have to have the serp belt replaced at around 41K miles, which I understand is early, and it's possible this dealer is suggesting things which are not critical to replace (like the rotors). But the leaks do have to be fixed and the holes in the muffler intake pipe do have to be dealt with one way or the other, as well as the fact that I do need new front tires (and I've known I would need to buy a set since last Dec.).
And now that I have the names of a couple other places that service Saabs in my area, I feel MUCH BETTER knowing I won't ever have to deal with O'Neill Saab again.
