These guys sound a wee bit fishy...Were you actually noticing diminished brake performance? Take off the wheel and check the remaining pad life yourself...
Or take it to an indie Saab tech for a second opinion. 25,000 miles in hilly San Francisco might be about right, but Denver's not all that bad...unless, of course, you tend to drive twisting mountain roads all the time!
