By just disconnecting the battery I get a consistant 130 miles of no "check engine". My wife could drive it forever and never get one. I think it might be a function of distance of the trip or that I push her car a bit more than she does. I am hesitant to replace the distributer in that some previous posts have stated that expensive fix was only temporary. I also find it odd that prior to this cycle of "check engine" new plugs, rotor and cap fixed me up for a year. I just spent a day trying the suggested fixes to reacquaint the radio and CD player to no avail. I think I will take a week off and then try the suggested fixes for this problem.
