"Depending on the mileage on your C900, I think that car can nickel and dime just as much if not more that a NG." That's my point. If I'm going to wind up spending the same money down the road, I'd rather stick with what I know. I've gotten quite comfortable with doing my own repairs (anything other that valves, block or tranny) on my C900s. So my interest in the NG900 is based more on desired long-life reliability and irrational brand loyalty.
900 series Saabs have never had really high resale value (outside our TSN community) compared with other marques, but I didn't expect to see such low prices on 1997 turbo models. That makes quality - or lack thereof - a concern, sort of like the '91 and '92 9KT. Traction control is so troublesome on the '92 that it seems to drive the asking price for '92 9KTs much lower than '91 cars which in most other respects are identical.
BTW, my first Saab was an automatic; that Saab was my last automatic.
