Hi Bill, I've witnessed a bad DI cassette in my parents' '96 9000 Aero a few years ago, with slight misfire on partial load... my 900SE had trouble starting yesterday, and actually shakes pretty hard at idle, requiring increasing idle to about 1400RPM to calm things. Plus, the DI was changed about 25K miles ago, by the previous owner, have the bills for work done past 60K miles. He spent about 1500$-1900$ per year on the car, which from seing 4 other saabs in the family, seemed about right, especially with the higher miles than my familys' cars had. My folks dumped their much loved 9000 Aero at 100Kmiles, as they got scared and got a 2000 9-5 Aero, which they don't like as much but was covered by warranty. Ah well...
How much for water pump?
I'm going to see the valves myself tomorrow, the mechanic wants to show me...
I'll keep you all posted,
Thanks Bill!
Richard
