There are several products that give you a real line-level output on an iPod besides Apple's dock. SendStation makes a tiny adapter that plugs into the dock port and has line-out and Firewire jacks. SiK makes a cable that does exactly the same thing. Both sell for around $30. The Monster Cable cigarette lighter adapter also has a line-out jack, right on the side of the plug that goes into the iPod. I used to use the SendStation adapter, but I installed a Dension cradle recently. It's by far the slickest way to hook up an iPod, and they're working on an adapter for all Saabs with Clarion stereos. I have the auxiliary input version since I have an aftermarket stereo with auxiliary inputs.
