I've seen no mention of what I think is a simple solution; Hack into the head unit to take over the cassette input to the pre-amp, running any line audio cable you like out of the dash. I can't recall the last time I listened to a cassette. The only catch here is identifying the correct trace/connector in the head unit, which I haven't done. I did dismantle the head unit to exercise the panel connectors, since I was having flaky volume control response (fixed it!). I couldn't ID the right connection visually, and it wasn't labeled on the boards. Anybody know where I can get access to the schematics or a service manual? Who makes the head unit?
